YAY! From our in-house fundraiser and the Christmas Worship offering, we netted
$1650 for this service project!  Thanks to all of you who contributed!


As our local community service project this year, we again created 40 bags of essential items. We delivered these to the Lookout Emergency Aid Society to be distributed to their clients and others in need. 

Items bought for the kits:

Shampoo/Conditioner                        
Feminine hygiene products
Toothpaste
Toothbrush
Antibiotic cream
Comb or brush
Lip balm
Gloves
Hats
Socks
Underwear
                                         
ALSO - Warm winter wear such as sweaters, coats, scarves were donated.            


As well,  we are raising funds for our global service projects which this year are:  Kiva, which gives micro loans to entrepreneurs  in the developing world, and  Partners In the Horn of Africa which supports communities in Ethiopia through the building of wells, schools and shelters for children orphaned due to AIDS.



Community Service Project '08-09

For our community service project in '08-09, we put together 40 bags and a collection of essential items that were distributed to people in need on the Downtown Eastside.
